Disney Cruise Post 1

This year we decided for our big family trip we would take the kids on a Disney Cruise.  We left Wichita Thursday night and headed to Arlington, TX.  We stayed with Andrew's Aunt, then woke up Friday, and drove to Houston.

Passing the time on the drive down.  We "gasp" left the Ipads at Andrew's Aunts house(on purpose) so the kids actually had to find things to entertain themselves.
Horrible picture of a big statue we saw on the drive down.
Checking out the Waterwall in Houston.
After the Waterwall we went back to the car and found a very unpleasant surprise.  Thankfully we found a tire store a mile a way, got it fixed, and were back on our way.  We went to dinner at The Original Ninfa's on Navigation.  The food was very yummy and the restaurant was packed.  After that we went to our hotel so we could get a good nights sleep before all they fun.

Saturday-  We headed to Galveston about 9:30am for our 12:00 board time.  We had to stop at a liquor store and Target along the way for some last minute essentials.  We got on board the ship at around 12:30.  Just a hint for anyone planning a Disney Cruise, DO NOT register your kids for the youth activities until you get on the ship.  The line in the waiting area was really long but on board the ship we only had to wait 5 minutes.  Once we got on board I headed straight to customer service to drop off our photo mats for the characters to sign and register for Tea with Alice. This fills up fast so I wanted to get it done ASAP and it is the only chance you will get to see Alice.

Next we were sent to Parrot Cay for lunch. After lunch we had some free time to tour the ship. We checked out the pools, sports deck, took a tour of the spa, and also found our room. We dropped off our carry-on bags before heading back to the spa for a raffle. Sadly, we didn't win anything. Then, we had a mandatory safety drill before the Sail Away Party.

The Sail Away party was so much fun and in true Disney fashion, it made even adults feel like kids again. You couldn't help but dance along with the kids. Once the party was over we went back to our room to unpack our luggage, and get ready for dinner. Our first dinner rotation was Parrot Cay. For dinner I had the baked crab, which I didn't really care for, the parrot cay salad, which I also didn't care for, the mixed grill, which was very yummy, and for dessert I had the ice cream sundae. Andrew had the Jamaican marinated chicken tenderloins which he loved, the west Indies Romaine salad, which he also loved, the island spiced rib-eye, which he also loved, and for dessert he had the chocolate s'mores cake. Winter had the Mac n' cheese which she ate for dinner ever night and Weston had the hamburger.

After dinner the kids went to the Oceaneers lab to play since our show didn't start for another hour. Our show that night was All Aboard: Let The Magic Begin. Once it was over we went back to our room to rest so we were ready for our firsts full day on the ship.

Going over the bridge into Galveston.
Seeing our boat for the first time.
 Waiting to board.
Our first picture on board.
Lunch
We only took the elevator a couple times so we would race each other to the top to make it fun for the kids.
First of many ice cream cones on our trip.
Before entering our room for the first time.
 Touring the ship.
