Day 6- Touring L.A. was on the agenda for this day. We saw the Hollywood sign, the Hollywood Walk
of Fame, TLC Chinese Theater, Santa Monica Pier, we ate at The Famous Pink’s
Hot Dog, and we drove by a restaurant in a TV show I watch! The beach was pretty scary since the
undercurrent was so bad. We saw a guy drown
and they had to give him CPR. It was
pretty scary and I pray that he is okay.
A guy also got carried out to sea and they had to swim out and get
him. The speed boats were called to try
and help also. Weston got knocked down
in the water and couldn’t stand up since the waves kept on knocking him
over. Thankfully Andrew was close and
saved him! After the beach we headed
back to the hotel. We had an earlier
morning so we wanted to get a good night sleep!
Day 7, 8, and 9- These three days were spend at Disneyland! Day 7 we went to Magic Kingdom. It was an early morning since we had a magic hour and could get into the parks at 7. We stayed until lunch then went back to the hotel to take a nap. After our nap the kids had appointments at the Bippity Boppity Boutique. Winter became a princess and Weston became a night. We left right after the fireworks since we were all too tired to continue! *Sorry for all the bra shots. That shirt got pretty stretched out as the day went on.
On day 8 we went
to California Adventures. We did not
leave the park at all on this day.
Weston did fall asleep during the Aladdin Show on us but other than that
the kids were troopers!
On day 9 we went
back to California Adventures just to go on the Cars ride. It was so busy the day before that we missed
it. We ended up going on it twice since
a group gave us their fastpass! As soon
as we were done we headed back over to Magic Kingdom. We also took the monorail to downtown Disney
to buy some souvenirs! We stayed at the
park until about 4 before heading back so the kids could take a nap. We went back to watch the night time show,
Fantasmic and planned to go on some more rides.
The kids were so worn out though that after the show they just wanted to
go back to the hotel!
Day 10- We spent most of the day at Universal Studios. At one of the
shows they need a family to demonstrate special effects in movies and we were
nominated! It was so much fun and the
kids loved it! Universal seemed so much
bigger when I was a kid. We left around
dinner time and ate at Phillip the Original.
It was just okay. After dinner we
headed back to the Hollywood Walk of Fame to check out this neat candy store. The
kids got to each make their own special candy bar. Weston did milk chocolate with dark chocolate
cream filling and marshmallow filling.
He also added gummy bears and chopped candy cane. Winter did milk chocolate with milk chocolate
cream, gummy bears, M&Ms, and
sprinkles. We called it a night after that.
Day 11- We drove to Vegas this day.
It was crazy hot there so it wasn’t very enjoyable. We ended up spending most of the day at the
pool. We ate lunch at Fat Burger and I
do not recommend it. It was way
overpriced and not even that good. For
dinner we ordered pizza at one of the restaurants inside the hotel. The kids were excited since we got to stay at
The Paris Hotel.
Day 12- The Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon were on the agenda for this
day. We tried making it to Four Corners,
but the drive took longer than expected. I think this was the day we also
enjoyed In-and-Out burger again for lunch.
We ended up getting in super late to Durango since we had to pull over
and call Home Depot. Someone had stolen
our Home Depot credit card number and made a bunch of purchases. We ended up roughing it again since Andrew
had to get up at 4:45 to get that mess all straightened out.
Day 13- This drive back to
Lincoln this day was supposed to be broken up but we were so ready to be home
that we drove straight there. We did
stop to do some shopping in Colorado and eat at Ole's Big Game Steakhouse in
Paxton, NE. We ended up getting into
Lincoln super late.
